Barbados Competition Terms and Condition


  1. 1. This promotion is open to any localpeople user resident in the United Kingdom who is aged 18 or over, except employees of the Promoter, Barbados Pulse Limited or any other company in the DMGT Group and Local World, their immediate family members, agents and agencies and anyone else professionally connected with this promotion. Users may only complete the poll once.

  2. 2. The prize will be offered for any eligible user who takes the poll. No responsibility will be accepted for corrupted, lost of late entries.

  3. 3. The prize consists of the following:

    a. 2 x Economy tickets with Virgin Atlantic to Barbados from a designated UK airport and an allowance of one hold baggage on the aircraft. Additional bags may be added subject to aircraft capacity and on payment of an additional fee.

    b. 7 nights at Sugar Cane Club. (RRP US $230.00 per night) all-inclusive meals and drinks strictly according to the hotel policy, based on double occupancy, inclusive of all hotel taxes, in a Garden View Suite (subject to availability).

    c. Airport transfers via luxury car service to Sugar Cane Club. (RRP US $175.00)

    d. Massage for two at Sugar Cane Spa. (Swedish massage for couples RRP US $165. May not be suitable if pregnant).

    e. Island Safari Tour for two persons. (RRP US $95 per person)

  4. 4. This prize excludes transport to and from the designated UK departure airport.

  5. 5. All departure dates, flights and accommodation are subject to availability.

  6. 6. Booking must be completed by 1st June 2013. The holiday can be taken at any time excluding half term, or bank holidays up to 15 December 2013.

  7. 7. No cash alternatives or substitutions will be available. The prize is not transferable. The Prize is non-refundable and no change will be given where only part of the prize has been used. The prize is donated by:

  8. 8. The localpeople user must enter the competition by taking the localpeople poll running from Wednesday 23rd January 2013. The Promoter may in its absolute discretion close the poll at any time.

  9. 9. Only by completing the poll will you be entered to the competition. Entrants to the competition will be automatically emailed and invited to register on the relevant localpeople website.

  10. 10. The promoter shall not be responsible for the act or default of the prize providers in respect of the holiday.

  11. 11. Entrant details will be provided to the prize providers, listed above for the exclusive purpose of providing the winner with the prize. In addition, Barbados Pulse, (a trading company of Pen Studios, registered company number: 33872), may use the data provided from completed polls for its research and marketing purposes and may contact entrants by email, subject to a right for entrants to unsubscribe to these communications and request that their details be removed. Entry to the promotion shall be deemed to consent to this provision of information to Barbados Pulse.

  12. 12. Those who leave the box checked for 3rd party opt in may be contacted in the future by associated parties (subject always to a right to unsubscribe), including but not limited to Rain Communications, the promoter’s PR company.

  13. 13. One winner will be picked entirely at random from the final list of entrants. This winner is free to choose any member of the public (apart from Local World and DMGT employees) as their plus one to accompany then on the prize holiday. Winners are responsible for making their own visa arrangements if necessary, ensuring they have a valid passport and obtaining their own travel insurance. No refunds will be available in the event that winners are restricted from travelling to Barbados on account of visa, passport, health or other problems outside the promoter’s or prize provider’s control.

  14. 14. The Promoter’s decision is final and will not enter into correspondence or discussion with entrants.

  16. 16. The winner will be notified by a representative of the Promoter by email. They will then also be contacted by Barbados Pulse to enable them to make the holiday booking.

  17. 17. If any circumstances out of the Promoter’s control mean that a prize advertised is not available, the Promoter will provide a prize of equivalent value.

  18. 18. Images and pictures used in the poll and promotion are not necessarily of Barbados scenery, they have been selected to portray a general holiday theme.

          1. 1. This promotion is open to any localpeople registered user in the United Kingdom, who is aged 18 or over. Entries are not limited per registered account.

          3. 3. The prize offered is a two-night, weekend stay (Friday night & Saturday night) for two adults at The Dog and Partridge Inn in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The prize includes breakfast, cream tea and a glass of bubbly on arrival, plus a-la-carte main course meal (up to the value of £16.95 per person) on the second night. The winner must book the weekend break by 30th April 2012 otherwise the right to claim the prize will be lost. The winner will be responsible for all costs of travel to and from the Inn.
